WHY THE DATE CHANGE?

As many of you who have been coming to Gay Days Anaheim for years know, Gay Days Anaheim has traditionally fallen during the first weekend of October. When we started Gay Days back in 1998, October was a quiet time at the resort. But as the years have gone on and Disneyland began heavily promoting the Halloween holiday, crowds at the parks grew and grew and October became one of Disney’s busiest months. For many years, Disney has been asking us to move Gay Days to September in order to make the in-park experience better for guests. In 2018, we signed our 2021 contract, agreeing to the move, but then, with Covid, we were unsure about those dates and whether the resort would be able to accommodate us, so we did not announce. Now that we do have that confirmation, we were able to announce our new dates, September 17-19. It seems like a new thing, but in fact, it’s been in the works for years, with the goal of making the weekend an even more enjoyable time for you!

NOTE FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE THE OFFICIAL GAY DAYS T-SHIRT:

We encourage your creativity when selecting a shirt (as long as it's red!). Just please keep in mind that Disneyland is open to the general public and there will be people of all ages present. Thanks!
